Fees:
My fees are comparable to the going rate for private psychotherapy in the New York City area. My fees vary, depending on session length and financial need. REGULAR FEES FOR FIRST SESSION $125 FOR THE FOLLOWING SESSIONS $ 80 BUT Fees will be discussed during our first session, or further explanation is available upon request.
Important note about reduced psychotherapy fees: I support an ethical commitment to set aside a percentage of my time to providing services to clients with financial limitations. For example, we are all willing to see students preparing for a career in the mental health field at a reduced rate.
Payment:
I accept cash or checks. Payment is due at the time services are rendered, or as agreed upon during our first session.
Insurance:
While I am not an in-network provider fo rmost insurance companies, most insurance plans will cover our services, except those that only provide reimbursement if you see a doctor in their network. Payment is expected at the time of sessions.
I am happy to provide necessary documentation for my services (in the form of a detailed receipt) which you will be able to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement. Since benefits vary by plan, please consult with your managed care company to learn about your individual out-of-network behavioral health benefits.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Since payment for services is expected at the time of your visit, insurance reimbursements will be sent directly to you, at the contracted rate you have with your insurance carrier. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions: - Do I have mental health benefits?
- Do I have Out of Network Benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
- How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required for therapy sessions?
- Does my plan have IOP (intensive out patient) benefits?
- Can I see a provider of my choice, if my plan does not have one who specializes in my needs?
- Will my insurance offer an "ad hoc" or "single case agreement" to allow payment for an out of Network Provider?
